3 Year Old Interview

Asking birthday interview questions is a tradition I started when Lilli was 3 and I started with Katie yesterday. It's always so funny to hear the responses and there are always a few surprises. 1. What is your favorite color? Pink 2. What is your favorite toy? Stuffed bunny (I would have thought Grover or a baby doll) 3. What is your favorite fruit? Watermelon  4. Favorite TV show? Garfield  5. Favorite lunch? Pizza 6. Favorite outfit? Tutu dresses 7. Favorite game? Playing Lion Guard with Lilli 8. Favorite snack? Veggie straws 9. Favorite song? Alphabet song  10. Favorite animal? Duck 11. Favorite book? I don't know (but I would say anything Dr. Suess or Sandra Boyton- she likes things that rhyme) 12. Best friend? Lilli 13. Favorite cereal? Lucky Charms 14. Favorite thing to do outside? Seesaw 15. Favorite drink? Chocolate milk (no surprise there!)  16. Favorite holiday? Christmas (or Santa as she said)  17. Favorite breakfast? Cereal (I would have thought smoothie- she has o

She Had A Good Day

Image
Miss Priss decided her birthday needed to start at 5:30 this morning I promise she was happy but she didn't like that I wanted her to take a picture before opening her present. :) We had to take Daddy to the doctor for another nerve blocking shot.  She didn't mind because she got us both to herself and she and I read books all morning.  After that, was lunch with Yaya for one of her favorites, tortillas and house dressing And once Hallie and Sadie were picked up and Lilli was home, we decided to go to the park for some play time. Lilli is such a sweetie. Sophie invited her to her house to play (which she normally loves to do) but she decided to stay and play with her sister for her birthday.  I would say the birthday girl has had a good day!

Happy Birthday KatieJane!

Wow, I can't believe my "baby" isn't a baby anymore. It doesn't seen possible that it's already 3 years since we welcomed you in to this world but we can't imagine our family without you. You're such a blessing and me, Daddy, and sissy couldn't love you more. Happy Birthday baby girl!

This Girl Loves Her Nana

Image
Katie and Nana have always had a special bond and it warms my heart to watch. Nana has made an effort to travel up here to visit both of my girls and it means so much, especially considering she is 87. She was here for the birthday and Katie was sure to give her some cuddles  And they even took a nap together.  Nana and I have always been very close and I love watching my girls love her too.

Bubbles and Brunch Birthday

Image
We celebrated Miss KatieJane's 3rd birthday with a bubbles and brunch party at the hunting camp yesterday. It was a special day surrounded by family and even more special because we were celebrating it on what would have been my Mom's (and one of her namesake's) 65th Birthday.  We had the food and drinks set up inside but the main fun was outside.  The preschool teacher came out in me when I was planning of day of fun for toddlers (except Lilli- we know you're a big kid ;) because I felt like I had "centers" for them. There was the baby pool, slip n slide, bounce house, and bubble station. All spread out so they could have space and not get tired of things.  It kept all 7 of them busy all day while the adults just needed their one area.  We spent the beautiful day on the porch watching the kids play, holding those 3 sweet babies and visiting.  Except when we went in for cake and presents.  Once the partying was done, Lilli even got to show off her shooting ski

Starting A Birthday Week Right

Image
Austin is in town staying with Yaya and Cap'n this week so we had an extra fun afternoon meeting them and Hailey and Case at Chuck E. Cheese. Yaya said it was like a casino for kids. (Lol, oh Yaya!) They ran around like crazy riding rides and playing the games.  And these 3 loved dancing with Chuck E. Cheese While Case preferred to wave from afar :) Katie especially liked him. She tried to get him to come play with her when the dancing was over  But I told her he needed to go back to work  Our house was showing when we were done there so we met Matt at Shogun for an early birthday dinner. We'd been talking about taking the kids there for months because we knew they'd love the show. Well, we were right about one at least. Lilli thought it was great but Katie was worried they were going to burn the place down. When he did the big fire, she jumped up and hid behind her Daddy. Oh well, she enjoyed her birthday meal. Lots more celebrating will happen this weekend at the deer cam

One Month

Image
It is hard to believe the last day of school is one month from today. It went by pretty quickly.  It seems like just yesterday I was taking this picture Hallie and Sadie's first week here.  And this picture on Lilli's first day of kindergarten. I'm really going to miss Apollo. Lilli has thrived there but I know she can anywhere. And I've heard nothing but good things about Herndon.  As much as Lilli has enjoyed school and I've liked both jobs, we are  really looking forward to summer! Keeping kids at home is honestly way harder than I expected it to be. They are all 3 very strong willed toddlers and fight like sisters. :) Teaching 10 three  and four year olds at First Friends is easier, which I never would have expected.  I think it has to do with not being at my house and having a set schedule.  But on the other hand I've gotten close to the Stinson kids and that won't happen with kids in my class so I wouldn't trade that for anything. And Katie is so b

Sharp Shooter

It is amazing what a difference between the first time Lilli shot her gun and Saturday. The first time she didn't even attemp to aim. And this time she hit the bullseye! Her Daddy couldn't have been more proud. He saved her target and it's taped inside his gun cabinet. He was still going on and on the next day. She's loving her new hobby and he loves sharing this with her.

Lane's Baptism

Image
The family all gathered at St. Joseph Catholic Church Saturday morning to celebrate the baptism of Lane. It was a beautiful ceremony and and I am so glad that we were all able to be there for such a special occasion.  Of course her side of the family was all there too. What a blessing it was to be able to celebrate their sweet boy with so many people that love him. From there we all went to Hailey's parents' house for lunch and a chance to visit more.  I'm really looking forward to summer when I will have more time to see them. I haven't gotten near enough baby cuddles. :)

Aspiring Contractor

Image
I haven't had too much to write about lately. The last 2 weeks have been spent watching 3 little girls and attempting to keep them out of contractors' way. We're not doing anything big to the house. Just the little odd jobs that have needed to be done forever but never bothered us enough. In the process, Katie has made a new best friend She's followed him around the house holding tools for him and watching very intently. She told me that she "wants to do what Mr. Chris does when she grows up." The amazing part is she really does watch for hours without losing interest. When she saw him walk in today she said "ooh, I like that one(him) Mama." She cracks me up! She even invited him to her birthday party.  Maybe she'll have her own show on HGTV one day. I watch it enough so that's probably where the interest started. Now it's amazing to her to see it in real life.  Someone needs a tool set for her birthday :)

It's Officially Official!

We are moving! Whew! What a whirlwind few weeks this has been. Matt called me a few weeks ago because he had passed a For Sale By Owner property that he wanted me to see. I said I'd go but never thought anything would come of it. I mean, we weren't even talking about moving, let alone looking; but sometimes things just work out that way. It's a beautiful 20 acre property with a manufactured home, 800+ square foot shed/man cave, above ground pool, chicken coup and the perfect place to build one day.  We made an offer before we left for Grand Isle and they called while we were gone and accepted. It was all verbal until Tuesday but now we have a signed contract and everything has been sent to a lender and title company. Of course because we weren't talking about it we weren't sure what to do with our house. We spent the 2nd half of spring break last week cleaning up and cleaning out. We went back and forth between renting it and selling it but we finally decided to lis
