3 Year Old Interview

Asking birthday interview questions is a tradition I started when Lilli was 3 and I started with Katie yesterday. It's always so funny to hear the responses and there are always a few surprises.

1. What is your favorite color? Pink
2. What is your favorite toy? Stuffed bunny (I would have thought Grover or a baby doll)
3. What is your favorite fruit? Watermelon 
4. Favorite TV show? Garfield 
5. Favorite lunch? Pizza
6. Favorite outfit? Tutu dresses
7. Favorite game? Playing Lion Guard with Lilli
8. Favorite snack? Veggie straws
9. Favorite song? Alphabet song 
10. Favorite animal? Duck
11. Favorite book? I don't know (but I would say anything Dr. Suess or Sandra Boyton- she likes things that rhyme)
12. Best friend? Lilli
13. Favorite cereal? Lucky Charms
14. Favorite thing to do outside? Seesaw
15. Favorite drink? Chocolate milk (no surprise there!) 
16. Favorite holiday? Christmas (or Santa as she said) 
17. Favorite breakfast? Cereal (I would have thought smoothie- she has one 3-4 days a week)
18. What do you want to have for dinner on your birthday? Pizza (which of course we had even though we just had it Sunday ;)
19. What do you want to do when you grow up? Work

Summertime!

Yesterday was Bossier’s last day of school, but we’ve been in summer mode since they got done LEAP testing a couple of weeks ago. It’s honestly so dumb that they had 10 days of school after testing because they did NOTHING. There was a whole lot of movie watching and playing on computers. On top of the fact that grades were due over a week ago, so it’s not like there was much they could have done. We stayed out on school nights, had pool days and skipped half days to hang with Pops, or friends or just to bake.  Katie had her awards and field day last Wednesday. She ended the year with Straight A’s and a member of National Honor Society. It was so fun to watch her compete in field day events and get to meet some more of her school friends too I checked Katie, Madison and Britney out of school when it was over, and they spent the afternoon in the pool and then we all (with Koy and Lil) went to Josie’s Tball game that night. Busy Weekends

It’s been a busy 10 days around here. On the 25th, the girls and I went down to Baton Rouge for a quick trip for Piper’s birthday. We got there late Friday, had a family lunch Saturday, and then took the kids to a water park Saturday afternoon. We were gone by 7AM Sunday to have some time at home for the weekend, and because GranJan was coming to visit for a night. She was going to Hot Springs with friends and stopped on the way because she had never seen the house. I wish I would have gotten some pics, but we had a nice visit and went out to eat that night.  The girls woke up Monday not feeling great (had complained of throats the day before too) so we went to the doctor and they ended up having Covid. I thought it was strep and was shocked because they didn’t even have high fevers, but I guess it’s going around a lot. They we’re technically out of quarantine after Thursday, but they ended up staying out all week. It was back to homeschooling for me so they weren’t behind. And by Frid

Back to School

We have officially made it through the first full week of school and it’s going well so far. The first day was Thursday, August 10th, and it was nice there were only 2 days to start to ease us into it. I did really well as we were getting ready that morning, and thought I would be ok, but I starting bawling before I was even out of the parking lot and couldn’t stop for over an hour. I laughed at myself because I knew in my head I was being ridiculous, but the tears didn’t get the message for awhile. It was the first time since Covid lockdown that they were both in school, and my heart hurt at the thought of them being gone so much. I teared up on and off the rest of the day, but it definitely made it better when they got home and had had a good day.
