The Rest of the Birthday

Image
After the party we all (except Jen and Piper who had to go home) went up to the deer camp to hang out and boil crawfish.  We didn't open presents at the party because there was too much going on so of course that was one of the first things we had to do.   She was overwhelmed so she let Lilli open but was very excited to see what was inside.  We got some good outside toys so all of the kids got some use out of them that afternoon The next morning was Katie's actual birthday.  We hung around the deer camp with her cousins awhile  But were soon headed home for some more outside fun.  Allie and John decided to stay an extra day and the weather was nice so Matt blew up the pool and we sat outside watching the kids before ending the day with dinner at Nicky's.  I think she enjoyed her birthday!

Pink Pony Party

We started Katie's birthday weekend with her birthday party at The Party Barn.  It's run by a stay at home Mom that has birthday parties at her barn right next to her house.  Katie is very girly and loves to ride ponies so I wanted to make it special for her.  Jen, Allie and John came with me an hour early to get it set up.   Once it was set up it was time to party! The kids started in the bounce house and played with and pet all the animals at first.   Then it was time for pizza and of course cake and ice cream Once lunch was over it was time for pony and horse rides.  All of the kids loved that part and even some of the adults got on.  Both the girls probably rode ten times each.  It was a fun party and I was really pleased with the way it turned out.  But most importantly, the birthday girl loved it!

Happy Birthday Katie Jane!

I'm late posting because we had too much fun with friends and family this weekend celebrating Katie's 2nd birthday.  No time to sit down to write.  We had a pink pony party Saturday morning, a crawfish boil that night, fun at the camp her birthday morning and then home to play with all of her new toys.  Lala is still here so I will post more later but Happy Birthday Miss Kathleen!

Already????

Lilli and I went to see her new school and register for kindergarten today.  I can't believe my baby will be starting real school in four short months.  I'm not sure I'm ready but she sure is.  She was a little nervous to see it but excited at the same time.   She gets plenty of education here at home too.  Daddy showed up this evening with a surprise in the back of his truck to learn about.   A snake!! Ugh! My girls may not have the fear of them I do when they get older but I feel my fear is very healthy. :) Country girls at heart! (Lilli at least, Katie would get close but didn't touch.- Give her a few years....)

Deer Camp with the Causeys

Image
We rode up to the deer camp yesterday with Cassie, Dillon, "other" Lily and Luke.  They were forecasting rain but we figured we'd go anyway because sitting on the porch watching the rain was better than sitting on the couch watching Dora any day! We did just that while the kids ran around and played in the rain for the first few hours. It was so nice to have a day to really hang out just us. It's the first time we'd had that much time since Dillon got back from deployment and may be the last time that's not with a bigger group before they move to Illinois in July. :( We're really going to miss them but are so happy for them at the same time.  That's where Cassie is from and it will be nice for them to have family around. By about 2:00 the rain had let up and we got to ride.  Of course that's always fun and we saw some hogs run across us too.  Cassie even saw an alligator.  We had dinner at Trejo's on the way back and then everyone got home and

Field Day and a Day Away

Yesterday was field day at First Friends.  They had rescheduled it twice already because of rain so when it was too wet again to have it on the lawn, they just moved it indoors.  I wanted to stay to watch since this is the last day like this she will have in preschool (sniff) but we didn't make it too long.  We saw a few things But it's hard to explain to a 2 year old that she can't join in the fun so we left for an hour to go to library story time.   We were back in time to watch her in her last race and have a snow cone and snack. Luckily Katie did get to join in that.  Straight from there we met Yaya for her to take them for the night.  It was the first time they've both been with her together and it's safe to say they had a great time.  She didn't totally spoil them though, she did make them work for their meals!  They must be sworn to secrecy because when I ask what all they did the only answer I can get is "we played." I guess what happens at Yay

Annual Crawfish Trip

Image
We went on our annual Crawfish Palace trip with Cara and Luke tonight.  Always so fun and so good! We don't get to spend nearly enough time with them but for 3 or 4 years now we've made it a point to get together for this.   And on a different note,  here's a picture of Josey I got today.  Just too much preciousness not to share and she knows it! :)

All Clear!

I'm not the only one that is thankful spring break is over.  Lilli had her 2 week checkup at the ENT today and she got the all clear to resume all normal activity.  She actually did a little dance and RAN out of there (neither of which she's been allowed to do during recovery).   She is so excited to get to go back to school tomorrow and I'm so excited to have a few hours of no kids (not that I don't cherish every second ;) School started for everyone else yesterday and we went ahead and took Katie so that Lilli and I could have a day together at Sciport.  We always have fun there and the staff is so great about engaging them that we always learn something new.  I also enjoy any time I get to have with my girls one on one and it doesn't happen with Lilli too often.  Then today I took them both to story time at the library.  I used to always take Lilli before Katie was born but this was only Katie's 2nd time.  I'd forgotten how fun it is. They sing, dance, li

Easter 2015

Image
We had a whole weekend of Easter celebrations.  Yesterday morning Lilli and I were up bright and early to be at Sciport for their members egg-straction. We got to meet the Easter bunny and hunt eggs.  Lilli was the only one to think to look in the potted plants for eggs so she racked up quickly.   After Matt got home from the camp to stay with Lilli, Katie and I went up there for a few hours so that we could see Austin and Josey (oh yeah, and their parents :)  We spent a few hours hanging out and holding the baby before we had to head back home to get ready for Allie.  It was her birthday and she had been at a crawfish boil in Alexandria for the afternoon and decided to come for Easter since she was already half way.  We had dinner and hung out but had to go to bed so the Easter bunny would come.  We were all up by 6:45 this morning to see what all the Easter bunny had brought and where he hid the eggs.  After all the fun it was time to get everyone ready for church.  The girls looked
