Mom and Lilli in Hot Springs

Image
Several weeks ago, Lillian mentioned that she was wanting to get some one on one time with me. After spending just about every weekend of hunting season at the camp with her Daddy and Capn, she said she missed me. ❤️ I’m sure she would have been happy with a day together but I’d missed her too and decided we needed a weekend. I had originally planned it for 2 weeks ago but Covid messed it up so I got it scheduled again as soon as we could.  We left Friday after school and drove to Hot Springs. We got there about 6:00 and only checked into the hotel and went to dinner that night. We were both exhausted and in bed by 9:00 The next morning was hotel breakfast and we hung around there until leaving for the races about 10:00. I had no idea what to expect but she loved it! We watched the horses being shown before each race and make our picks (just for bragging rights- I’ve never really been a gambler) and then went to our seats to watch. We braved the cold the last two races we saw for a bet

Out of Quarantine!

We spent all of last week quarantined for Katie. Lilli’s doc appointment on Tuesday did show that she had a pretty bad ear infection (she thought the pain was just Covid) so she was pretty much better by Thursday after starting antibiotics. Even though she was cleared to go back that day, I kept her out to be fully rested to start this week. Plus, she had tests in all core subjects Thursday and Friday that we did from home, so she’s starting fresh today on her first day back in two weeks!   Katie pretty much stayed asymptomatic except for a little runny nose. So other than skipping gymnastics, her school week was normal.  By Saturday, she was on day 7 (at least- she may have actually been positive several days before her test and we went two days passed recommended quarantine anyway) and we finally got out of the house! I didn’t take any pics but we had a nice family weekend. The 4 of us went to a movie Saturday morning, and then Sunday we went to church and brunch all together.  Sunda

Happy Valentine’s Day

I got to spend Valentine’s Day with all of my favorite loves. ❤️ Lillian is STILL running fever on and off (we go to the doc in the morning to be sure there isn’t some sort of secondary infection) so the girls and I got to sleep in again. We woke up to the sweetest Valentines that Matt had left before work. I told him I didn’t need flowers this year but he didn’t listen. 💕 Lillian had written each of us a sweet note and had painted some pictures for Matt too.  I had a little class party in the dining room too.  I signed Katie up for a Valentine exchange with a bunch of homeschooled kids around the country. She ended up with about 30 of them and we pulled out the map to find where each one was from. Lillian didn’t mind because she got to sit there and watch and eat candy the whole time. 😃 between that and the cookie cake from Yaya, they got lots of sweets! My car left the garage for the first time in a week when I went to drive around to deliver all of my real estate “pop bys.” I usua

Finally Got Us

After 2 years of avoiding it, Covid finally hit our house. Lillian and I both woke up Monday morning kind of achy but I chalked it up to post workout stuff and took some ibuprofen and we went on. By 10:00 she was asking me to check her out of school and I told her she better really be sick! 😉 Well I guess I jinxed it because about the time my morning meds were wearing off I started to realize I might not feel so great either. By the end of the night, my temp was 101 and I felt terrible. Lilli’s temp was about the same and I was keeping my fingers crossed it was just a cold. Our at home Covid tests the next morning proved that was not the case. She had a pretty easy time with it. Didn’t feel great, but no fever after that first day and only asked for DayQuil Tuesday and Wednesday. I thought she was pretty much over it but fever is back tonight so we will see. 🤞I was hoping mine would be similar but I didn’t have as easy as a time. My throat got worse and worse and I was almost in tear
