Daddy's Girls

Lilli starts back to Pre-K4 next Tuesday and Katie will go to Mother's Day Out twice a week while I go to the office.  I've really got conflicting feelings about it.  On one hand, it's going to be nice to have a little time to myself and I know Lilli really gets bored and loves school.  She's so smart (I'm not biased;) and it's sometimes hard for me to think of things to keep her stimulated.  It will also be nice to be in a little more of a routine.  On the other hand, I really enjoy the 3 of us being home together all day with very few places we HAVE to be.  Now I'm not going to lie and say they don't drive me absolutely crazy sometimes but I wouldn't change a thing.  Pre-K4 is only offered 5 days a week so this will be the first time since Lilli was born that we're going to have to be up and out of the house every morning.  Katie is really going to miss her on the days she's home with me but it will also be nice for she and I to get that on

Lilli tested in her karate class on Thursday to move up to the Lil Dragon yellow belt.  I was so nervous for her because she had to do a few moves in front of the class by herself but she nailed it! She was proud of herself and of course we're proud too 

Matt and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary this week.  It was Wednesday and he had to work late at the camp so the girls and I went to stay up there.  It was pretty low key since there was work the next morning.  I picked up sushi to eat after the kids went to bed and be surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of roses.  Last night Katie came to babysit so we could go to dinner at Texas Street Steakhouse.  It was delicious as usual and so nice to be out together.  This was us when we got home.   We take a picture on our anniversary every year to put in a frame in our room.  We forgot to do it at the restaurant so this year it will be a selfie :) It may be kind of cheesy but I put the pictures in an album and it will be fun to flip through one day. 

I haven't had too much going in in the last couple of weeks that gave me things to blog about.  Last week we spent 3 nights in Baton Rouge because I went for a funeral.  It was obviously a last minute trip so we didn't have too many plans during the day while we were there.  It was kind of a nice change because we're usually running all over town.   We did get to have dinner with the whole family twice and one night it was just me, the girls, Dad, and his girlfriend Janet, at his house for dinner.  It was nice to get to spend some time getting to know her without a crowd. Then when we got back, Lilli got sick  and ran fever for several days so all of our plans here were put on hold and we pretty much stayed around the house.   Life is back to being as busy as normal now.  Chris and Carissa came in town to visit and for a wedding.  It was the first time we had seen them since they moved over 3 months ago and we'd really missed them. The best part about friends like that

Today was such a fun day in our house because Sophie and Sadie Stinson came to play all day.  Brian's Mom couldn't keep them today so I offered to help.  We had fun playing in the pool Bike riding And watching "shows" Katie and Sadie even napped for over 2 hours each this afternoon and an hour and a half of that overlapped.  I had time to workout and do laundry. Never expected that to happen today! It makes it easier that Lilli and Sophie kind of cancel each other out by keeping each other occupied but I was so happy that Sadie and Katie even entertained each other some when we were all playing. I was worried  Katie would be jealous but she did great. We hope they come back soon! 

We've had play dates 4 out of 5 days this week.  Bossier school starts back for almost everyone next week so we've been trying to get in some time with friends.  Lilli and Katie don't start back until after Labor Day so they still have a month of summer.  Monday we had a play date at Aubrey's house Then Tuesday Sophie came over for the afternoon and Wednesday Lilli went next door to Gregory's.  I picked Sophie up again today for some playtime and lunch at Chick-fil-a and now they are happily playing with babies in Lilli's room while Katie naps and I get some (rare) time to myself. Why didn't I have her over everyday this summer? :)  And before the end of Monday we will have played with "other" Lily, gone to the park with Aubrey and had Gregory over at our house.  Busy time but Lilli's loving it of course!
