Happy Birthday KatieJane

Image
Happy Birthday KatieJane! It's been a long one. ;) It started at 4:45!!! This morning when you woke us up to play with your present you'd already snuck in the living room to see.     I could forgive the ridiculously early morning since it's your birthday. You have brought such joy to our lives over the last 4 years.    I hope you've had a wonderful day and I think you have! After playing all morning you went to school where your friends all sang Happy Birthday and you ate cupcakes. I picked you up a little early so that we could go eat lunch with Yaya where you got more gifts and cake   Then we went home to put those gifts together before picking up Lilli for some fun at Chuck E. Cheese   And dinner was your favorite, tacos. Followed by EVEN MORE cake with your family.     I hope you've enjoyed your birthday as much as we have. We love you KatieJane 💕

Happy Birthday Mama!

It may be the 7th birthday we've had without you but I'll never stop celebrating. We love you

Showers and Swimming #2

We traveled to Houston this weekend to celebrate with Alex at her baby shower and to see the new house. It's hard to believe that the next time we see them Logan will be here! She only has 6 more weeks to go. The shower was a precious woodland theme and the hosts did a great job!    She got a lot of good stuff and Alex, Becky and I had fun going through it all last night. :) The new house is wonderful! We had 7 of us staying there the whole weekend and we all had a bedroom and plenty of space. Plus, it looks like something straight off of HGTV.   We had such a fantastic weekend hanging out and talking about the baby. The girls may have not been too interested in those conversations but they had plenty of fun! They both got up and swam for about 3 hours before the shower on Saturday.    And Lilli got a cooking lesson from Shanon   By the time we got home from the shower that evening a cold front had come through and this is the weather we were having   Lilli felt like it was warm en

Ouch! I dropped a picture frame in the garage last week and I thought I had cleaned up all the glass. Well, this piece of glass that just came out of my foot proves that I was wrong.   It was a pretty decent size piece and I'm very thankful for Matt who came all the way home from work to perform a little surgery get it out. It hurt! But I tried to do it myself and could not get it. Very lucky to have a man like that! And on a different note, look who got glasses!   Lilli has been complaining that the board was blurry lately so I took her to the eye doctor on Monday. Turns out she does need them. And her real onesshould be in at the beginning of next week. She's actually pretty excited about it. I wonder if that will continue what she has to keep up with them. 😊

Showers and Swimming

Yesterday was a eventful day in Baton Rouge. We started out the morning at a wedding shower for my cousin, Morgan, who is getting married in June. Katie is going to be the flower girl and she is taking this responsibility very seriously. She stood at the door with Morgan greeting guests (without being asked) and helped throw away trash as she opened gifts. It was very cute to see her get in to this.   From there, we went to Jimmy and Theresa's house for an Easter party. Theresa had egg dyeing, cupcake decorating and an egg hunt for the kids. Plus plenty of food and drinks for all the adults. It was a fun afternoon and a good chance for Morgan's fiancé' parents to get to meet the rest of her family        Karie also got to start her birthday celebrating (it's in 10 days) when she got her first gift from Nana and Lizard. It's the only thing that she had specifically asked for so far, so it is safe to say if she was excited! Then, after dinner at Dad's that night,

Happy Easter!

Egg-citing Few Days

Ok, yes, I know my post title is cheesy. But we have had some Easter egg hunts this week! We had 2 last weekend between church and Jubilee Zoo. And then, on Wednesday, Katie got her 3rd hunt at First Friends.      It was short and sweet but she had a good time. On Thursday, Yaya took Katie with her to lunch and to run errands   (Thank you!!) so that I could go be room mom at Lilli's school and put out all the eggs for their hunt and give her my full attention. Hers was about as quick as Katie's. But about 15 times as many kids     We left immediately after to go to Baton Rouge and got in about 8:00 last night. We got up this morning to go see Dan and Anna at their Dad's house before our weekend got too crazy. Their stepmom, Anna, had Easter eggs to dye       And from there, we stop by Peggy's new place to take her out to lunch.   It's nice and she seems happy there. I texted Matt these updates throughout the day, and he so crazy! He decided to text me his update too

Jubilee Zoo Eggs-travaganza

We took the girls to the Jubilee zoo Easter egg hunt yesterday. It was a beautiful spring day, mid 70s and plenty of sunshine. The perfect day for the petting zoo. They had all of the usuals… Feeding and petting the smaller animals, a hayride to feed the big animals, and the bounce houses.     But the best part was the Easter party. There was an egg hunt   Baby ducklings, lambs and kids to hold   And the Easter bunny! And he gave them each a stuffed animal to take home.   He's having a busy week! I guess he had to get home to get everything ready to fill baskets next weekend. :)

Cork Wine Festival

Matt and I had the best time with Cassie and a couple of her other friends at Cork yesterday.  We'd been looking forward to this and getting to see her for awhile.  I can't believe it had been almost 2 years! I don't know that he was initially thrilled with the idea of Cork but this was part of his birthday present to me and he ended up having a good time.  He said he'd go again and I hope Cassie may make this a tradition and bring Dillon next time. :)   After it was over, I rode with Matt to take our babysitter home and then he dropped me at Red River Brewery to meet back up with them and took the girls home.  He'll never know how much little gestures like that mean.  I wasn't ready to be done hanging out with my friend! From there we went to Horseshoe for a few more hours.  It was a fun night and I'm so thankful for the time I got even if was only a day.
