Finally Fall

Image
Thursday was the first official day of fall and it’s looking like it in our house.  The temperatures should follow tomorrow with highs in the 80s and lows in the 50s all week. It’s become our start of fall tradition to have our LGA book fair so Friday was our fall fun day.  I made a breakfast sausage balls and apple cider, we read some new books, painted a wooden pumpkin (Lilli was out sick and got to do hers too), we did Mad Libs for ELA, and then decorated “Book brownies” while we watched a movie.  We are having an outdoor movie night party for Hocus Pocus 2 next weekend so these are in the freezer and ready for their friends.  That night was the Lee Brice concert. Katie is obsessed with country music and always has it playing. She’s been asking to go to a concert, so I jumped on these tickets when I saw them. We had a good time, but she couldn’t understand why it had to go so late, lol. It started at seven and she was about to fall asleep at 10 so we left about 45 minutes early.  We

I Did It Again

I said last time that I tried to not let two weeks pass without a post, and here I go doing it again. This time it’s not because we haven’t had anything going on, it’s because we have been busier in the last few weeks than we have probably ever. Lilli had her first softball game on the 6th and we have joined the rest of the ball parents in the world with our crazy schedule. She has games Tuesday/Thursday- practice Monday/Friday- and a private lesson on Wednesdays. Five days a week- it’s exhausting but she loves it! She says it ranks right up there with hunting and she still has the goal of the school team next year. Her private instructor said if she’ll commit to it, she can get her on that team next spring. We will see! But it’s amazing how much she’s progressed in just 4 games. She had her first game hit this past Thursday. She may have been out at first, but it was an RBI!  Pops drove up that day to watch Katie’s gymnastics class and go to a game and it was a good one for him to see

Life Catch Up

I haven’t posted in over 2 weeks and I usually try not to go that long. It’s because we really haven’t had anything going on other than sickness in this house. Lillian missed school the Monday and Tuesday after our anniversary with some unknown virus. Fever, sore throat, stuffiness- but Covid and strep were negative. On that Thursday, Katie told me she had a sore throat and her ear was hurting really bad. I figured it was the same virus that Lillian had, but it sounded like she also had an ear infection, so I decided to take her to the doctor for an antibiotic. Little did we know she also had Covid! She wasn’t even that sick when I took her in, but by that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday she ran a fever of over 102. (We even retested Lil because we thought it was just too early when she went, but still negative) It was incredibly disappointing because my uncle Roy passed away the week before and the funeral was that Saturday. We were not able to go and support the family, but I was very g
