Pops' Birthday Weekend

Image
The girls and I went down to Baton Rouge for the weekend to celebrate Pops'birthday with him and the family.  It was actually a week ago but the family got together on Saturday for lots of food, wine and visiting.  It's always so nice to get to catch up, we don't keep in touch over the phone as much as we should, and Lilli loves the time with her cousins. Katie is going to be right in there soon too. Now that she can crawl around she was included a little.  And the next day we got up and Lilli and pops did some baking for thanksgiving. He's wanted somebody to learn for years and I think she may be the one that finally does it. She seems to love it.

My Little Gardener

Lilli spent the night in Vivian last night and she woke up this morning to her Daddy planting fruit trees out there.  Of course she had to help so she walked up to him and said, "we need to get to planting these trees." She was all about it! She loves gardening with Matt and even digs in the dirt just for fun. I think she's going to have a love of it like her Yaya.  She's learned a lot over the last few months by helping her Daddy.  In fact, at church last weekend the minister was telling the kids the parable about the mustard seed and handed each kid a seed.  She was explaining how you need the right things for it to grow and asked the kids what the mustard seed would need to grow.  I don't think she was expecting an answer from this group of 3 year olds but Lilli raised her hand and said "water, sun and soil." The whole congregation clapped.  All the people seated near me were impressed when I told them she is 3.  A very cool "Mom moment" for

Ballet Open House

My silly girl yesterday Yesterday was Lilli's open house at her dance studio.  It's a chance for parents and grandparents to see what they are doing in class and hear about the recital.  What a difference a year makes! The kids were all so much more confident and the class was much more organized than last year.  Now Yaya and Matt may be wondering if we were watching the same class when I say more organized but there is a big difference from watching a 2 year old last November. I love that she is really enjoying dance and I hope it's something she continues to enjoy for years.                            At last years open house

Babies Everywhere

Yesterday Hailey and Case dropped by for a visit just a little bit before Chris and Carissa came over to have dinner and hang out. That meant we had 4 under 4 (well really 3 were under 7 months!) plus 3 dogs. Saturday nights sure have changed over the last few years.  Lilli loves to hold the babies.  Katie was cracking up at her cousin.  Hailey got to meet Alex. It's crazy what a difference 3 months makes. Case is only 4 months but holding one month old Alex makes you realize how fast they grow.  On Thursday, Yaya called and invited us to a picnic at the duck pond.  We spent a couple of hours there and Lilli loved every second.  It was especially nice because we had no plans when we got up that morning so what was going to be a boring day just hanging around the house turned out to be really fun.

Couldn't ask for more

We spent the weekend at the camp for the opening of deer season and the whole family was there.  It was 2 days of cuddling and playing with all the kids, catching up with each other, good food and wine and of course deer hunting.  What more could you ask for?       Everybody got a deer- Cap'n got 2!   Aren't they cute? Lilli said she played with Austin so hard she was out of breath I'm sure those two are going to be best friends Huck, Lilli, Katie, Case, Austin and Ella We had a visit with the other cousins Nothing is better than a tractor ride with Cap'n Waiting on Cap'n's famous catfisih rio bonito

My baby is getting too big!

She pulled up to standing and started crawling yesterday. She's only a little over 6 months old! My world is about to change and I'm not sure I'm ready for it but I don't think she's going to give me much choice.
