Today was "udder" Lily's last day

Image
And I think my Lilli is really going to miss her.  I've been trying to explain this week that she is starting at her new daycare and won't be coming everyday but she isn't getting it.  I guess it will just take time.  I wanted to do something a little special today for her last day.  I took them to the Boardwalk with the intention of riding the carousel and meeting Yaya for lunch.  When we got there the carousel wasn't open! That could have turned in to a disaster with two 2 year olds that were excited about it but they were ok.  We walked over to Bass Pro Shop to look at the alligators   Watch the fish:   And watch the dancing fountain.  We did get to meet Yaya for lunch at Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro.  They both were exhausted after and got a good nap before we took Lily to her Mom at work.  We'll miss having her everyday but her Mom and I have agreed to have play dates whenever we can.

Last Week

I finally have Internet back in my house after 6 long days! I feel like I need to update on what went on in Lilli's life.  Nothing too crazy but I am planning to make a book at the end of the year as kind of a yearbook of our family so don't want to leave anything out.  Life went back to normal on Monday after our wonderful week away in Belize.  Lily came back and my Lilli was very happy to see her.  Monday and Tuesday we went to the spray park in our neighborhood .  The weather has been perfect and I wanted to take advantage of it.  I think the girls were happy with that decision! It was all fun and games until Lilli got hurt.  She slipped and went face first in to the concrete pushing a tooth through her lower lip. It doesn't look that bad in the picture but it did need stitches.  The nurse talked the doctor in to using a glue instead though because "she is a girl and we don't want her to have a scar." Haha, love her nurses.  She milked it for the d

7 years together!

7 years ago today Matt and I were saying "I Do" on the beautiful beach at the Riu Palace Mexico in Playa del Carmen.  We were joined by 30 members of our family and friends and it was a party we will never forget! Each year after we have always done something extra special.  It wasn't necessarily on the actual day but celebrating our anniversary was always the intention. 1st- spent the night in a hotel after a nice dinner in Kemah, Texas.  We had spent the day playing on Blew Bayou with Cap'n, Yaya, my Mom and Dad, Allie, Jen and Daniel 2nd- Cap'n and Yaya were so sweet to let us have a night to ourselves at Rio Bonito.  Going to the lake and swimming in their pool is almost like a resort anyway. 3rd- Trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 4th- Trip to Playa del Carmen with Josh, Hailey, Wesley, Allie and Bruno 5th- Dinner out at Jack Binion's and a house to ourselves thanks to Yaya and Cap'n.  Lilli was 7 months. 6th- Playa del Carmen for Cara and Luke&

Travel Day

We woke up Friday morning and had our usual breakfast tacos to get prepared for our long travel day.  We were back on the water taxi at 11:30 and arrived at the Belize City airport about 1:30.  When we got there we discovered our flight was delayed about an hour so we would not be leaving until 4:30 due to a mechanical issue.  That always makes me nervous anyway but especially nervous when we had to fly through a storm with some turbulence.  Our flight landed about 8:30 and I've never been more excited to be on the ground.  It took about 2 hours to get through immigration and customs so it was 11:00 before we were in the car and heading out of town.  Just a few minutes later, the bottom dropped out! Matt and I have neither one ever been in a car during a storm that bad.  There was no visibility and the lightning was crazy.  I was really freaked out and we were both exhausted so (even though I know Matt wasn't thrilled about it) he decided to stop at a hotel so we could get a fe

Living off the Sea???

One of the lines the guys love to use while we're eating meat they've hunted at the deer camp is "living off the land!" Well on Wednesday, we were living off the sea.  We woke up that morning and were picked up on our hotel dock at 8:00 am by a local fisherman.  He took us to the reef right off the island for 4 hours of snorkeling and spearfishing.  We didn't use a big tour company so it was pretty neat to get to be alone.  We originally wanted to dive but decided it wasn't the best idea because of my cold.  Next time....  The reef was beautiful and we ended up with 3 lobster that Matt speared and about 5 conch. When we got "home" we hopped in the golf cart again for another lobster burrito at our favorite restaurant because we were really hungry after our 4 hour swim.  Then we stopped at a grocery store to pick up ingredients to make some ceviche with our conch. One thing I hadn't mentioned about this hotel is the

San Pedro, Belize- Days 1-3

We woke up Sunday morning at 5:00 to start our day of travel to Belize.  We were leaving our hotel by 6:00 to drive from Austin to Dallas to catch our 12:30 flight to Belize City.  I laughed when I was telling people that Matt was in heaven.  You see, I had gotten a cold the week before and slowly lost my voice during our weekend in Austin.  On Friday it was just kind of hoarse but by Sunday, I literally could not speak.  Matt was in heaven because he was heading to spend 5 days on the beach in Belize with a wife that couldn't speak.  He said it jokingly (I think, haha) on Saturday and I didn't let him live it down.  We made the drive with no issues and got checked in and through security with just enough time to have some breakfast and a bloody mary before the flight.  The flight was uneventful as well and we landed at 3:30,  It took about 20 minutes to get through customs and to a taxi to catch the 4:30 water taxi to San Pedro. That was an hour and a half ride so we final
