New Adventures, Gymnastics and Easter

Man, it’s only been about 2 weeks since my last post, but we have been busy! When we got back from
Baton Rouge over spring break, I made the decision to leave the real estate team I’ve been on for almost 2 years to go back to being a solo agent. Pam took it well, and I’m still finishing up files I have with her, but I’m officially back on my own! It’s scary to go back to commission only, but I know I’m up for the challenge. I did it for 5 years before, and know I can again. I’ve been working on setting up my new website and back office systems and there is definitely a learning curve! But I’m ready to have my name on the sign and not answer to anyone but my clients again. 
Koy’s Mom does pics as a side business and I got her to meet me one evening to update my headshots. 

We tried to get all of our kids to dress up and take some spring pics, but all but Koy and Lillian complained, so we only took them of them. 


They turned out so cute! And it is good marketing for her trying to get photography started. She’s already busy with senior pics and prom pics. 

Lillian started her new adventure by getting back into riding lessons. She’s been on the waiting list for a place in Benton for 8 months and finally got in. She will go twice a week and is so excited. 


Kathleen had a meet in Lafayette and it happened to be on Janet’s birthday. They competed at 4:00 on a Friday, so she skipped school and we drove in for the day. We decided to not spend the night since we had been there the week before for spring break and wanted a weekend at home. 🏠 Plus, Lilli wanted to go on a field trip to Ruston so she missed the meet and Yaya picked her up after school. She stayed home alone until 11:00PM and it was her first time to be that late. I was so proud of how she handled it! Dogs were cared for and she even washed clothes. 

We had fun watching Kathleen and she had a great meet! She was 1st on beam! And 4th on floor, bars and all around (no place on vault). Holly and Madison rode down with us and also came out to dinner after to celebrate Janet’s birthday


Our weeknights are so busy and we usually have something every night, so we decided to stay home for Easter this year since we’d gone south twice in two weeks already. The 4 day weekend was so nice! We went to a late move Thursday after gymnastics. Katie wanted to go, but she slept with her head on my lap during the whole thing. ❤️ Britney had a 2 night sleepover at our house; Koy, Brynn and Ryder came over to hang out for the day Friday; and we had Josie’s 6th birthday party Saturday 


Sunday was Easter and we got up and went to church after we saw what the bunny brought. We hunted eggs right after the service, before having a lazy day and crawfish for dinner.


Perfect family day! He is Risen Indeed!

Busy Weekends

It’s been a busy 10 days around here. On the 25th, the girls and I went down to Baton Rouge for a quick trip for Piper’s birthday. We got there late Friday, had a family lunch Saturday, and then took the kids to a water park Saturday afternoon. We were gone by 7AM Sunday to have some time at home for the weekend, and because GranJan was coming to visit for a night. She was going to Hot Springs with friends and stopped on the way because she had never seen the house. I wish I would have gotten some pics, but we had a nice visit and went out to eat that night.  The girls woke up Monday not feeling great (had complained of throats the day before too) so we went to the doctor and they ended up having Covid. I thought it was strep and was shocked because they didn’t even have high fevers, but I guess it’s going around a lot. They we’re technically out of quarantine after Thursday, but they ended up staying out all week. It was back to homeschooling for me so they weren’t behind. And by Frid

Back to School

We have officially made it through the first full week of school and it’s going well so far. The first day was Thursday, August 10th, and it was nice there were only 2 days to start to ease us into it. I did really well as we were getting ready that morning, and thought I would be ok, but I starting bawling before I was even out of the parking lot and couldn’t stop for over an hour. I laughed at myself because I knew in my head I was being ridiculous, but the tears didn’t get the message for awhile. It was the first time since Covid lockdown that they were both in school, and my heart hurt at the thought of them being gone so much. I teared up on and off the rest of the day, but it definitely made it better when they got home and had had a good day. I got to go out with the gymnastics Moms that night to celebrate Melissa’s birthday and was feeling better by then We haven’t seen Shanon, Alex and the boys nearly enough lately and he texted me a couple of weeks ago to find a weekend befor

Football and Teal

This is always a busy time of year. Between hunting season, still adjusting to school schedules, gymnastics, work… we rarely get free time. On top of that, it’s football season and Lilli has friends that play/cheer so we have been going to the middle school and high school games the last few weeks Lilli has her first “boyfriend” that plays for the middle school team so we have been going to watch. Plus, so many of my friends have kids that are playing, cheering, on dance line or in the band, that I get to hang out with as many friends as she does on those nights. And the high school games are just as fun for me as her too. I remember watching her cheer during halftime during a cheer camp in 1st grade and thinking it would be so fun to get to cheer on the team every week. That time is here and I’m loving it just as much as I thought I would. Last weekend was opening of teal season in Arkansas too.
