What a Crazy 3 Weeks!

Image
Around the middle of last year, I started thinking it might be time for a career change. I love real estate, but working for Pam the last few years has had me kind of burned out. The great thing about real estate is the flexible hours, but even though I’m home, I’m not always present. So in March, I decided to quit working for her and to go back selling on my own, and it’s actually been going pretty well, but it didn’t stop me from feeling like it was time for something new. I’ve missed teaching since I’m not homeschooling and started looking into the iteach program to get certified in Louisiana. And I was convinced it was time for the change when Kathleen asked me to leave my computer at home when we went to Galveston and I was heartbroken to tell her I couldn’t. And then proceeded to spend a few hours a day working. I was accepted in May, and on July 9, I accepted a job teaching six grade science at Benton Intermediate. It’s snowballed very quickly! The last week has been spent getti

Happy Birthday Matt!!

Happy Birthday to the best Dad and husband we could ask for. He’s 43 years old today and that means I’ve officially loved him over half his life. He was 21 when we started dating. 😊 It’s been a weekend long celebration that started yesterday with Shanon, Alex and their boys coming in town.  We had a prime rib dinner and hung out when they got in town. Today is the actual day and we continued the party at the lake house with Capn and Yaya, and Cara, Luke and Josie met us for the afternoon. (We sang to Cara too because her birthday is Monday) We swam, hung out on the deck while the kids jumped off, and had burgers and cake. But the highlight of his day was the Trump boat parade  It was a great day and we couldn’t have had better weather for a July day at the lake. Happy Birthday Matt! I hope you know how loved you are. ❤️

Cousin Camp 2024

Image
It’s the last night of cousin camp and it’s been another fun week. Monday, we had a terrible storm with a record number of tornados. We spent the whole day at the house doing crafts, watching the warnings and trying to keep the animals calm. On Tuesday, we went to Surge before horseback riding  Wednesday was a haircut and movie before riding again. On Thursday and Friday, Lillian went to work with Matt while Katie and Piper hung out. Our original plan was for Piper to go home Wednesday, so her work days were already on the calendar. I honestly expected her to complain but she never said a word. On Thursday, Piper and Katie did crafts and swam a little. I wanted the last day to be more fun, so today we had lunch with Cara and went back to Surge for arcade games. And they are night swimming with Lilli now. We are going to miss her when we get back from Baton Rouge! But it’s almost time for back to school!

Just Hanging Out

I was thinking it had been a couple of weeks since my last post, so I started looking through my pictures and calendar to see what we’d been up to, and it’s been mostly a whole lotta nothing. I worked, Lillian worked a few days, and they had riding and gymnastics, but the downtime has been kind of nice after the super crazy 2 weeks before that. Katie had Sadie and Britney over once. Lilli and Brynn hung out, and of course she sees Koy almost everyday, even if only for a minute. They are the only ones that ask me to take their pic, lol Last Wednesday, Katie and I drove down to Alexandria to get Piper for our 6th annual cousin camp. Lillian couldn’t come because she’s been working with Matt or babysitting a lot of days. (Katie found a crawfish in the pool when Britney was over) For the Fourth of July, we got up and went to see the new Quiet Place movie with Kelli and then came back to the house and had some girl pool time. Matt grilled, and later on that evening, Koy got dropped off to w
